An in-home visit from Sonny Dykes, Cal’s recently hired head coach, didn’t sway wide receiver Dannon Cavil from his commitment to Ole Miss.
The 6-foot-5 Cavil, who just wrapped up his high school career at James Madison High in San Antonio, was visited by Dykes Wednesday night as a last-ditch attempt to gain his commitment for the Golden Bears’ 2013 signing class.
Cavil has been committed to play for coach Hugh Freeze and his staff since the spring and he has already signed his financial aid agreement papers. (Cavil is planning to enroll in classes at Ole Miss in January so he practice with the team this upcoming spring.) (December 14, 2012, Page 6A)
