State pride will be on the line for Oxford and Lafayette Friday and Saturday nights in the Oxford High gym. All four area basketball teams will be in action Friday in the inaugural Mississippi-Alabama Challenge.
Lafayette’s Commodores and Lady Commodores will take on the LaFayette High Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs of Alabama in the first two games Friday, while Oxford’s Chargers will host the Oxford Yellowjackets and Lady ‘Jackets in the final two contests. Action begins Friday at 4 p.m., with the Lady ‘Dores (4-2 overall) taking on the Lady Bulldogs, who are 0-4 on the year according to MaxPreps.com. (December 13, 2012, Page 8)
