Lafayette boys sweep Winona, N. Pontotoc

Lafayette’s boys knocked off Winona and North Pontotoc this weekend to improve to 4-2 on the year. Friday, the LHS ‘Dores defeated Winona in penalty kicks to earn a 3-2 win. Jordan Willms had eight saves in the game, while Austin Fikes and Jason Reveles each had one goal in regulation.

“Casey Vaughn played a great game and organized the defense,” LHS coach Gene Anderson said.

On Saturday, LHS defeated North Pontotoc 2-1.

Willms had six saves and Jayme Miller also had a save.

Fikes and Reveles once again led Lafayette with one goal apiece.

“Defensively, T.J. Hollis, Casey Vaughn, J.D. Driver, Jorge Tapia, Ivan Lopez and Garrett Carter limited North’s scoring opportunities,” Anderson said.
