Lady ‘Dores come up short in tourney play

Lafayette’s dry spell on offense came at the wrong part of Saturday’s matchup with Oxford (Ala.) in the inaugural Mississippi-Alabama Challenge in the Oxford High gym.

After gaining a 34-33 lead over the Lady Yellowjackets early in the fourth quarter, the Lady Commodores went cold. The end result was a 50-39 win for Oxford, who went on a 12-2 run shortly after Lafayette’s lead to take control for good. (December 17, 2012, Page 4B)
