COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Playing in the largest junior college bowl venue in the nation, the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers knew it would take a big-time effort to come away with the inaugural Brazos Valley Bowl championship at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field.
Quarterback Domonique Harris and the Ranger offense had exactly that, piling up more than 500 yards of total offense on their way to a 47-36 victory over Kilgore College. NWCC ended the season with an 8-2 record.
Harris completed 19 of 23 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns while running for an additional 56 yards. Running back Damian Baker was NWCC’s workhorse, running for 178 yards and a touchdown. (December 3, 2012, Page 3B)
