Chargers sweep North Panola in hoops action

Oxford’s middle school basketball teams won three games over North Panola Monday night. The eighth-grade Lady Chargers won 33-4. Tierra King led the way with 10 points.

Deraynnae Mathis scored six points, while Monya Baskins finished with five. The seventh-grade Chargers defeated North Panola 30-23 to improve to 8-0. Drew Bianco led the team with 12.

Jaquan Webb had eight. Jamel Thompson and Naziah Stamps were credited with game hustle awards from coach Marlon Bell.

The eighth-grade Chargers won 36-28 and are now 8-4. Torey Gordon had 13, while Kenard Harris finished with 10. Thomas Allen and A.J. Gable were credited for their all-around play.

All four OMS teams return to action Thursday against Lafayette in the OHS gym starting with the seventh-grade girls game at 5 p.m. (December 11, 2012, Page 9)
