Rebels roll past MVSU

BLOG: The Ole Miss men’s basketball team officially began its 2012-13 campaign Friday at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum with a 93-57 win against Mississippi Valley State.

The Rebels (1-0 overall) were never in danger of losing this game as they took a 44-21 lead into halftime and never looked back.

Head coach Andy Kennedy took Friday night’s game as an opportunity to play a lot of guys and see just what had to work with as 13 players saw action.

Junior transfer Marshall Henderson had an impressive debut with a game-high 22 points in 23 minutes. Henderson was 5-for-11 from 3-point range, making three in a row at one point during the second half. Senior forward Murphy Holloway lead the team with 11 rebounds to go along with 15 points.

Ole Miss will play Coastal Carolina on Tuesday night with at 7 p.m. tip (November 10, 2012)
