Oxford’s eighth-grade basketball teams earned victories over North Panola at the Oxford High gym.
The Lady Chargers defeated the Lady Cougars 41-3 thanks to 11 points from Tierra King, eight from Monya Baskins and six from Deraynnae Mathis.
The Chargers defeated the Cougars 37-24. Jarkel Joiner led the way with 13 points and five steals.
K.J. Gipson had eight points, while Kenard Harris was credited with eight rebounds and a great defensive effort and overall hustle award from coach Marlon Bell.
All four middle school teams return to action Monday at Olive Branch. (November 6, 2012, Page 7)
