Hamann claims state title; local teams in top 4

BLOG: Lafayette High School’s Peyton Hamann posted a time of 15 minutes, 28.7 seconds to win the Class 4A girls’ individual cross country title Saturday afternoon at Choctaw Trails in Clinton. Hamann’s effort helped the Lady Commodores to a third-place team finish in the 4A girls’ competition, one of four top four team finishes by the teams from Lafayette and Oxford. The Oxford Chargers finished third in the Class 5A boys competition, while the Oxford girls and Lafayette boys finished fourth in their team competition.

 

Saltillo swept the Class 5A boys’ and girls’ team competition to claim state championships. In Class 4A, the team state champs were Saint Stanislaus boys and Pontotoc girls.
