Friday’s obituaries

  • Loyce Frye Busby — 93, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at her home in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. A graveside service will follow at Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
  • Barbara Tutor Harrison — 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Henry Chapel of the Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
  • Dr. M. Beckett Howorth Jr. — 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his home in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Oxford. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 this evening at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Waller Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
  • Dorothy “Polly” Baskin-Sanders — 65, died this morning at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford.
  • John William Wheat — 30, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in Oxford. The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Oxford. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, with a Rosary service following in the chapel of the funeral home.
  • Sarah Katherine Wheat — 23, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in Oxford. The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Oxford. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, with a Rosary service following in the chapel of the funeral home.
