Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze took a proactive approach to the fallout stemming from the student-led protests that happened on campus late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. Freeze gave his thoughts and talked about his course of action, as well as what his assistants did, following the unorganized protest outside of two residence halls following the re-election of President Barack Obama.
Social media helped fuel a demonstration that included an Obama-Biden campaign sign being burned, while inaccurate reports from larger news organizations labeled the protests as “riots,” a fact that was contradicted by Ole Miss police authorities as well as Chancellor Dan Jones in a statement issued Wednesday morning.
