Water Valley trounces Troopers

WATER VALLEY — The Blue Devils and head coach Brad Embry had two main objectives heading into Friday’s Region 2-3A opener against Mooreville: Get the win and stay healthy.

Unfortunately, Water Valley only achieved one of those goals.

Minutes into the 45-0 victory at Bobby Clark Field, junior Cole Camp was injured while trying to score on a 70-yard punt return and reportedly broke his tibia and fibula in his right leg.

After being treated on the field, Camp was taken in an ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi where he underwent surgery just before noon Saturday.

Water Valley immediately huddled up on the sideline following the injury, regrouped and went back to work. (October 1, 2012, Page 5B)
