Pearson makes all the plays and more for OHS

Jessica Pearson always had a knack of turning nothing into something.

As the setter on Oxford’s volleyball team, it wasn’t uncommon to see Pearson not only set up a teammate for the kill when the Lady Chargers’ passing was on point, but also go sprawling out of bounds in an attempt to keep the play alive.

Volleyball can often times be an emotional and chaotic sport, but this season — and really the last three seasons — Pearson has been a player the Lady Chargers have looked to and relied upon to steady the team.

It’s because of her unique ability to not only make teammates look good, but also lead and come up big in the clutch, that she is the Oxford EAGLE’s 2012 All-Area Player of the Year. (October 25, 2012, Page 1B)
