*Breaking news* One dead in morning wreck

A morning wreck claimed the life of a woman this morning. The wreck occurred about 11 this morning on Highway 6 West near the Highway 7 ramp.
The name of the deceased is still being withheld pending notification of kin; however, Capt. James Owen of the Oxford Police Department said the victim was a younger female.
Owen said a Chevy Tahoe SUV was travelling west on Highway 6 near the 18th Street overpass, when a Toyota Corolla, travelling east bound, apparently crossed the median and hit the SUV. The driver of the SUV was transported via ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi for observation and moderate injuries.
A passenger in the Corolla was flown by helicopter to The Med in critical condition. The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.
Owen said the wreck is under investigation.
