Oxford’s run through the Region 1-5A schedule gets a little more interesting Friday with a road game at Hernando. It’s not that the Tigers (3-4 overall, 1-2 Region 1-5A) are any better or worse than the teams the seventh-ranked Chargers (7-0, 3-0) have been playing, they’re just one of the more unique teams.
Offensively, Hernando presents problems, especially in a week of preparation, due to the Wing T offense coach Anthony Jenkins uses to score points. Last year, the Tigers rallied from 14 points down to beat the Chargers 31-30 in overtime on homecoming using an offense that OHS coach Johnny Hill was leery about. (October 11, 2012, Page 8)
