WATER VALLEY — A cold night didn’t stop Water Valley from starting hot, as the Blue Devils defeated Mantachie 56-3 Friday on senior night at Bobby Clark Field to close out the regular season.
Water Valley, which finished as the No. 2 seed in Region 2-3A, will host North Panola, the No. 3 seed of Region 3-3A, this Friday night in the opening round of the MHSAA Class 3A playoffs.
Putting up 56 points and rebounding from their first division loss, a 20-13 setback to Aberdeen, since 2010 gave the Blue Devils some momentum heading into the playoffs against the Cougars coach Brad Embry said. (October 29, 2012, Page 4B)
