Coming off of the team’s bye week, Freeze said he believes the team is back to full strength with the exception of a few players that suffered season-ending injuries.
The hot topic of the day, of course, was the Rebels’ upcoming game against SEC West foe Arkansas (3-4 overall, 2-2 SEC).
The Arkansas-Ole Miss game doesn’t quite have the same media circus surrounding it like it did when former Razorback Houston Nutt was the Rebels’ head coach, but Saturday’s game (which is set for a 11:21 a.m. kickoff on SEC Network) is still a big one for the Rebels (4-3, 1-2) and their hunt for a bowl.
One quick note: Freeze said that the emergence of Mike Hilton at Huskie has pushed Brishen Mathews to safety.
Below is a quick video of Freeze’s opening statement as well as his responses to the first couple of questions.
Kickoff for the Ole Miss Rebels’ Nov. 3 game at Georgia will be determined on Sunday, as CBS has elected to use a six-day selection for three Southeastern Conference matchups that weekend.
The Ole Miss-Georgia game has been held by CBS, along with the Texas A&M-Mississippi State and Missouri-Florida matchups. The TV slots are 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS, Noon ET on ESPN and Noon ET on ESPN2.
