Adjustments made by a veteran coaching staff and some old-fashioned determination helped lead the Lafayette eighth-grade Commodores to a 30-12 win against Grenada at William L. Buford Stadium on Tuesday night. The victory garnered the Commodores (6-2 overall) their fifth straight win and the Tri-Lakes Conference title in the process.
Lafayette’s win was especially sweet for head coach Glenn Williams, who credited his assistants, Jimmy Murphrey and Ryan Taylor for the way they improved the team as well as the way his players overcame a 1-2 start. (October 24, 2012, Page 6)
