Devils overcome sluggish start

NETTLETON — Water Valley learned an important lesson Friday night.

Facing a one-win Nettleton Tigers program that has fallen on hard times as of late, and with perennial power Aberdeen on the horizon, the visiting Blue Devils came out flat in the Region 2-3A showdown.

The reigning region champs actually trailed early, allowing a 35-yard touchdown run after going three-and-out on their first possession.

After struggling to find their stride at first, the Blue Devils eventually found their footing to earn a 33-13 victory. (October 15, 2012, Page 4B)
