Bulldogs kick ‘Dores out of top spot

NEW ALBANY — New Albany’s Eathen Rainey kicked the Lafayette Commodores out of familiar territory last Friday night at Kitchens Field.

Rainey’s 19-yard, game-winning field goal in overtime sealed a 10-7 win for the Bulldogs and placed New Albany in sole possession of first place in Region 2-4A.

The setback marks the first time LHS has lost a region game since 2008, and the first time the ‘Dores have not had or shared the No. 1 spot in the region since that same year. (October 15, 2012, Page 5B)
