Buford on the mark against North Pontotoc

It had been years since Lafayette junior D.K. Buford had played quarterback.

With the Commodores looking to preserve the health of senior Brandon Mack in their regular season finale, Buford stepped in and did an admirable job at North Pontotoc.

Better than admirable, actually. Buford had one of his best offensive performances of the season, rushing for a season-high 140 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.

Buford also completed 4 of 4 passes for 68 yards and another touchdown. (October 30, 2012, Page 6)
