*Breaking news* Second wreck victim succumbs to injuries

A second crash victim from this morning’s wreck on Highway 6 has died, according to Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy.
The wreck occurred at about 11 a.m. this morning on Highway 6 near near Highway 7. A female was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the same vehicle, a Toyota Corolla was airlifted out. Kennedy confirmed the death to the EAGLE at 3:22. Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Oxford Police Department’s Capt. James Owen said a Chevy Tahoe SUV, traveling east crossed the median, for unknown reasons, and hit a Toyota Corolla traveling west near the 18th Street overpass.
The driver of the SUV was transported via ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi for observation and moderate injuries.
Owen said the wreck is under investigation.

      It appears that he facts of this accident need to be verified. The direction of he vehicles travel and which one crossed he median appear to be reversed. Details such as these should be withheld from breaking news until verified with more accuracy.
