AHS Bulldogs rally to claim Region 2-3A

ABERDEEN — Water Valley’s goal of winning a second straight Region 2-3A title came up short Friday night with a 20-13 loss to the Aberdeen Bulldogs. In a contest where both teams appeared to be even from a size and speed standpoint, it was big plays made by the Bulldogs that allowed them to pull out the victory.

Aberdeen (8-2 overall, 4-0 region) scored two of its three touchdowns on long passes where a Water Valley defender or defenders were in position to make a play. The first touchdown of the game for the Bulldogs went for 70 yards in the first half when quarterback Josh Williams hooked up with Aaron McMillian, who caught the ball with a Blue Devil in his face. (October 22, 2012, Page 3B)
