WVHS opens region play against Johnson, Troopers

WATER VALLEY — This year’s Mooreville Troopers squad isn’t quite the same as last year’s version.

A year ago, the Troopers saw a miniature revival with their football program led by quarterback Griff Loftis, who led Mooreville to one of the better passing attacks in North Mississippi.

With Loftis now at Itawamba Community College, the Troopers have transitioned from a well-balanced offensive scheme to a more run-heavy approach.
Leading the attack for the new-look Mooreville (3-3 overall) is familiar veteran Josh Johnson. (September 27, 2012, Page 7)
