BLOG: WATER VALLEY — Water Valley sophomore kicker Alex Robles booted the Blue Devils to a 17-16 win against Bruce on Friday night at Bobby Clark Field with a game-winning 42-yard field goal with 36 seconds left.
The Blue Devlis (4-0) trailed 13-0 at halftime, but scored on its first two possessions of the third quarter to take a one-point lead.
Blue Devils’ quarterback E.J. Bounds connected with T.T. Person for a 29-yard touchdown pass for Water Valley’s first score of the night and Brandon Bounds scored on a 1-yard run to give WVHS a 14-13 lead.
The Trojans (3-1) reclaimed the lead on their ensuing possession when Shaq Bush nailed a 32-yard field goal with 10 minutes left in the contest.
