Smith provides leadership, strength for Chargers’ offensive line, team overall

Clifton Smith’s importance to the Oxford offense was never more visible than it was two weeks ago at Senatobia. Unable to perform at the level he usually does due to an injured ankle, Smith wasn’t able to do dominate in the middle like he has so many times in the past.

Thankfully for the Chargers, a down game for the 6-foot, 320-pound Smith is still better than most centers can produce and the end result was never in jeopardy as Oxford won 34-14. (September 20, 2012, Page 8)
