Several Rebs held out of first intrasquad

The Ole Miss baseball had a laundry list of who’s who being held out from this past weekend’s first intrasquad action.

Starting pitchers Bobby Wahl and Mike Mayers are being held out to rest after they each saw extensive time this summer pitching for Team USA and in the Cape Cod league respectively.

New junior college transfer Austin Blunt (forearm stress fracture), senior reliever Brett Huber (bone chips) and freshman right-hander Brady Bramlett (shoulder tendonitis) were all held out due to various injuries.

Senior outfielder Tanner Mathis was the lone position player that missed this weekend’s activity due to an oblique strain he suffered while playing in the Cape Cod League this summer. (September 18, 2012, Page 7)
