The Oxford cross country team competed against 60 programs from Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas the Memphis Twilight Invitational on Sept. 1 and head coach Chris Patton said he was proud of the effort his team put forth.
Tristan Orman led the OHS boys with a time of 18 minutes, 39.79 seconds, while Pruitt Griffin (18:52.33) and Kendall Jenkins (18:56.96) rounded out the Chargers’ top 3.
Leading the OHS girls with a time of 21:39.54 was Callie Mayo. Swayze Elliott (22:12.02) and Emily Hankins (22:22.95) rounded out the Lady Charger leaders.
“We ended up doing pretty good overall as a team,” Patton said. “I think we ran pretty well. The girls usually don’t run a 5K, they usually run 2.5 miles, so I think they handled that pretty well.”
OHS is back in action Saturday at the Pontotoc Invitational. (September 5, 2012, Page 7)
