No. 6 NWCC can’t trip up at NECC

Tonight’s game in Booneville will serve as another step for the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers as they look to win the MACJC North Division title. NWCC, ranked No. 6 in the latest NJCAA poll, plays the Tigers a week before an even bigger home contest with No. 12 ICC.

The Rangers still have to play No. 3 East Mississippi on the road which means they can’t afford to stub their toe against the Tigers, who are 1-2 overall and 0-1 in North Division play. Last year the Rangers lost 34-28 to the Tigers at home, a loss that ultimately cost them a spot in the playoffs. (September 20, 2012, Page 9)
