Lafayette had three runners finish in the top 10 of Saturday’s Pontotoc Invitational Cross Country meet held at Longbow Trails. The Lady Commodores finished third as a team in the 4A division behind Pontotoc and Corinth.
Only Pontotoc had three girls place in the top 10. Peyton Hamann led the Lady Commodores with a fourth-place overall finish with a time of 16 minutes, 26 seconds on the 4K course.
Esmeralda Rodriguez finished eighth with a 16:39, while Rachel Starnes was 10th with a 17:03. Brooke Mardis finished 92nd overall, while Taylor Selby was 108th. (September 10, 2012, Page 4B)
