Hill, Chargers look to keep momentum going

Friday night’s game at Bobby Holcomb Field will feature two Region 1-5A competitors trending in different directions.

Oxford is coming off of a convincing 40-27 victory in which reserves and the ninth-grade squad played the final few minutes at Center Hill, while the visiting New Hope Trojans travel to Oxford looking to bounce back after a disappointing 42-22 loss to Saltillo.

Despite the up and down start to the season and recent defeat, Johnny Hill, the head coach of the region-leading Chargers, said he knows the Trojans (2-3 overall, 0-1 in region play) will be ready to compete when Friday’s game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. (September 27, 2012, Page 6)
