Freeze, Wallace discuss the Rebels’ win, No. 14 Texas and more

VIDEO BLOG: Ole Miss first-year coach Hugh Freeze met with the media earlier today for his usual Monday press conference to discuss the weekend that was and the week ahead.

There wasn’t a lot of actual news from today’s presser aside from Freeze confirming the Rebels are still waiting to make a final decision on receiver Collins Moore (labrum).

“Right now we’re exploring what’s best for him,” Freeze said. “He could play right now. Is it wise to play him? In the doctors’ view, is that shoulder going to go out again? We’re trying to take all of that into consideration before we make this final decision.”

Other topics discussed involved the Rebels’ upcoming game with No. 14 Texas (2-0), Bo Wallace and how he’s handling being the Ole Miss starting quarterback, and a few other player-specific questions.

Below is Freeze’s opening statement plus his response to the first couple of questions:

And here’s Wallace discussing the Ole Miss offense plus the Longhorns and Texas’ recruitment of him:

One extra note: Ole Miss senior A.J. Hawkins was named the Southeastern Conference’s Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week. Hawkins’ recognition is the second time in two weeks the Rebels have had a player honored by the SEC. Last week, sophomore defensive end C.J. Johnson was named the SEC’s Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week.
