Commodores hollow out Pontotoc

PONTOTOC — The Lafayette football team aced its first true road test of the season with flying colors last Friday night.

In its first game outside of Lafayette County, LHS used dominant showings on both sides of the ball to defeat Pontotoc 41-6 at “The Hollow.”

Defensively, the Commodores (5-1 overall) limited the Warriors to just two plays of 10 yards or more through the first three quarters of play while also forcing PHS quarterback Marcus Reed to throw four interceptions — three of which were picked off inside the 20-yard line — with the last one being returned 100 yards by Brandon Mack for a touchdown with 3:19 to play in the third quarter. (September 24, 2012, Page 4B)
