While most University of Mississippi students were beginning classes for their spring semester, Ryan Peets embarked on a 22-day sailing expedition across the Sea of Cortez. Peets is a Jackson native and senior psychology and religious studies major who took the NOLS Baja Coastal Sailing course. NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) offers wilderness education courses for students of all ages, and also provides college credit. (August 3, 2012, Page 10A)
