Sophomore Bo Wallace was close to gaining a slight edge on junior Barry Brunetti in the race to become Ole Miss’ starting quarterback during the first scrimmage of the preseason Saturday morning. After both signal callers produced a week of back-and-forth results, Wallace appeared to be a little more productive, a little more impressive.
The slight edge Wallace seemed to gain by throwing a touchdown strike to Randall Mackey early in the scrimmage was erased by the final two drives when he couldn’t complete a pass other than to Ole Miss’ defenders. (August 13, 2012, Page 6)
