The look on D.T. Shackelford’s face Friday answered the question about a possible return to the football field this year even before he opened his mouth. After being away from football for the past 16 months, the junior linebacker from Decatur, Ala., will have to spend another fall watching his Ole Miss Rebels from the sideline.
The 6-foot-1, 250-pound Shackelford, who has undergone two ACL surgeries in the past two springs combined, said he learned that he would be unable to play July 27 when he visited the doctor who performed both surgeries, Dr. James Andrews, for a checkup. (August 6, 2012, Page 6)
