‘Dores make adjustments heading into opener

Lafayette is still a few weeks away from officially starting to defend its Class 4A state championship with the start of region play. But the Commodores can keep their 32-game winning streak going starting with the season opener Friday. LHS will host Class 6A Tupelo at William L. Buford Stadium beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Friday will be the first game under new coach Eric Robertson, who served as defensive coordinator for the Commodores the past seven years and helped come up with a plan that produced a 40-11 win over the Golden Wave last year. Unfortunately for Robertson and his staff, there was no film to watch of Tupelo’s jamboree to prepare for the opener. (August 16, 2012, Page 1B)
