Williams ready to help lead Rebels

BLOG — Florida athlete Charles Williams is ready to help the Ole Miss Rebels any way he can.The 6-foot-1, 188-pound Williams became the Rebels’ latest football commitment for the 2013 signing class when he informed his direct recruiter, Wesley McGriff, that he was picking OM over West Virgina Thursday.

“I feel like it would be a great fit for me to be at Ole Miss. I believe I can make an impact on this team as a player. Another reason (I chose Ole Miss) is because I have a great relationship with Coach McGriff, Coach (Hugh) Freeze and the other coaches on the staff,” said Williams, who is being recruited to play wide receiver in the future.

Williams attended Ole Miss’ elite, or invitation-only camp, June 1. That was his first and only visit to Oxford, but he came away very impressed with the facilities and everything Freeze had to offer.

“My first impression was ‘wow.’ It looked like a great school. I liked the facilities, how they had an indoor facility and the outside facilities. I had very high hopes for the school before I got there and it turned out to be that way when I got there,” Williams said.
