HOOVER, Ala.—Setbacks and defeats suffered in 2011 and the season before for older members of the Ole Miss Rebels are expected to make a difference in 2012. That’s the way the players are thinking heading into the start of summer drills and after an more positive, upbeat offseason.
Sophomore wide receiver Donte’ Moncrief, junior defensive back Charles Sawyer and junior linebacker Mike Marry all spoke at the Southeastern Conference’s Media Days on Thursday and each had a positive mindset about what new coach Hugh Freeze has done to turn around a program that has won just six games the last two years.
Moncrief emphasized the amount of learning he did last year and how he hoped that made him more prepared for his second time through the SEC. (July 20, 2012, Page 6A)
