Hart puts perfect ending on coaching career

Hollywood couldn’t have scripted it any better.

This past season the Lafayette Commodores entered the year as the Class 4A favorites, ripped through the school’s toughest schedule in years, earned a national ranking for the first time in program history and then, to cap it all off, knocked around South representative Laurel for a second consecutive state title.

The 39-29 win over the Tornadoes marked the program’s 32nd straight victory.

Following the season, head coach Anthony Hart announced his intention to step down as the Commodores’ coach to take over as the school’s athletics director. (June 13, 2012, Page 7)
