Three more Rebels and one potential Rebel were selected on the final day of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft Wednesday.
Senior right-hander R.J. Hively was taken in the 19th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, junior outfielder Tanner Mathis was selected in the 27th round by the Houston Astros and senior outfielder Zach Kirksey was picked in Round 29 by the Detroit Tigers.
Ole Miss signee Jacob Waguespack (RHP; Prairieville, La.) was also picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 37th round.
The quartet of potential, current and graduating Rebels join Gavin Cecchini (New York Mets; 1st), Stryker Trahan (Arizona Diamondbacks; 1st), Ty Hensley (New York Yankees; 1st), Alex Yarbrough (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; 4th), Matt Snyder (New York Yankees; 10th) and Dylan Chavez (Boston Red Sox; 14th), who were all selected during the previous two days of the 40-round draft.
