‘Dores headed to NEMCABB semis

NEW ALBANY — Lafayette’s run through the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs this past spring seems to be reforming in the annual NEMCABB Championship Tournament. After going 2-1 in regional pool play last week at Oxford’s Edwin Moak Field, the Commodores are off to a 3-0 start in the single-elimination portion of the tournament.

A day after defeating Alcorn Central 9-3 on Monday, the Commodores dispatched Houston 13-4 and Baldwyn 9-1 at BNA Park to advance to the NEMCABB semifinals. Lafayette plays tonight at 5 against the Amory Panthers, who knocked out Oxford 4-2 on Tuesday. (June 27, 2012, Page 6)
