This summer will be an important one for the Water Valley baseball program as it looks to replace a talented group of seniors led by the likes of Taylor King, Tyler Kimzey and Chris Conard.
While the Blue Devils admit it’ll be unlikely they can immediately find a player that will replace the power of a player like King, the team is already looking at possibly the next Austin Hodge.
Meet New Stough.
The rising junior registered all of three at-bats in 2012 — he did make the most of them, however, going 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored —as a reserve off the bench.
Moving forward, Stough could fill the void Hodge, a graduating senior, will leave in Water Valley’s bullpen. (June 15, 2012, Page 6A)
