Oxford may not be playing a team from its own division in the quarterfinals of the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs this weekend, but the Chargers are facing a team that they are quite familiar with in the Hernando Tigers.
OHS coach Chris Baughman scouted the Tigers in their third game with Saltillo last Saturday and felt like every name being announced coming to bat was a player that faced the Chargers in last year’s playoffs. Oxford ended up winning the series in two games but the vast majority of that Hernando team is back and motivated to defeat the Chargers this year. (May 3, 2012, Page 7)
