Lafayette’s tennis season came to an end Friday in the MHSAA Class 4A North Half title match. New Albany beat Lafayette 6-1, but three matches were decided in tiebreakers.
Mallory Davis won Lafayette’s lone match, defeating Savannah Horsah 6-0, 6-1.
In boys singles, Mark Robbins defeated Nathan Hollis 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 1 boys doubles match, Cam Clark and Thomas Mills beat Lafayette’s Barron Pruitt and Hunter Knight 3-6, 6-1 (10-8). At the No. 2 boys doubles slot, Christian Scott and Christopher Scott topped Lafayette’s Jacob Roberts and Garrett Reed 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). The No. 1 girls doubles match was also tight. Lafayette’s Ashley Smith and Lauren Cullen beat Elelerich Hall and Molly Morris 6-4 in the first set before losing 3-6 (7-10). The No. 2 girls doubles match was won by New Albany’s tandem of Olivia Dunnam and Hannah Anderson 6-2, 6-3 over Brittany Mann and Abbey Pate. In the mixed doubles match, New Albany’s Maegan Traylor and Josh Creekmore beat Kathryn Owen and Brett Bowen 6-2, 6-0.
