Water Valley takes two over weekend

The Water Valley baseball team had a successful weekend, claiming a 6-3 victory over Mantachie on Friday and then turning right around and beating Grenada10-7 on Saturday.

Taylor King picked up the win on Friday and also had a double and triple at the plate. Chris Conard recorded two doubles in the win, and Cody Greer earned the save.

On Saturday, Tyler Kimzey earned the win and Greer picked up his second save in as many days.

Adam Langham supplied the power for Water Valley (6-10 overall, 3-2 Division 2-3A) by hitting a home run. He also had a single in the game.

Austin Hodge recorded two hits in the game and Cole Camp hit a double.

Water Valley returns to action Tuesday and will host Mantachie with the junior varsity game scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. (April 2, 2012, Page 10)
