Oxford Middle School’s Lady Chargers finished second in the Pontotoc Middle School Invitational track meet. There were four first-place winners for the Lady Chargers. Monya Baskins was first in the shot put and discus, Swayze Elliott was first in the 200 meter dash, Jakeria Dunn was first in the 800, while the 4×200 relay team of Tierra King, Elliott, Mon’tayshia Wadley and Ann Marie Blackmon finished first.
The same relay team finished second in the 4×200. Anna Branch was third in the shot and fifth in the discus.
The 4×400 team of Faridah Salau, Dunn, Swayze Alford and King finished third.
Madeline Henderson was third in the 800 and fourth in the 1,600. Sabrina Holden was second in the 300 and third in the 110 hurdles.
Wadley was fourth in the 100. Oxford returns to action in the OMS relays at OHS on Tuesday. (April 6, 2012, Page 9A)
