Lafayette perfects small ball, tops Oxford at home

A successful approach at the plate for Lafayette paid off for the Lady Commodores on Monday night in their 13-1 win over Oxford. After falling behind 1-0 to the Lady Chargers in the first inning, LHS answered with nine runs in the second and four more in the third thanks to some successful bunting early coupled with some blasts from players such as Corey Hollis, Katrina Wilson, Kendall Glass and Rae Drewery.

LHS coach Katie Moore, who saw her team hold its own over the weekend in the DeSoto County Tournament, liked how recent work in practice paid off in a game situation. (April 3, 2012, Page 9)
