Early implosion trips up No. 18 Rebels

STARKVILLE—Players say hits are contagious.

Sunday at Dudy Noble Field, hit batters were also contagious.

Mississippi State capitalized on an uncharacteristically sloppy first inning by Ole Miss’ pitchers to defeat the No.18 Rebels 4-2.

In doing so, the Bulldogs earned their first home series win over the Rebels since 2002. (April 30, 2012, Page 6)
