Buchanan helps shut door on MSU

PEARL (AP) — Matt Snyder had three hits and drove in two runs, leading Ole Miss to a 6-3 victory over Mississippi State on Tuesday night in the Governor’s Cup.

Snyder put the Rebels ahead with an RBI single in the first inning and added another in the eighth.

Ole Miss (25-12 overall) sent nine batters to the plate in a four-run fourth inning, jumping out to a 5-1 lead. Austin Bousfield and Zach Kirksey both had RBI singles during the two-out rally, which was a welcome sign for a team that’s struggled to string together big innings in recent weeks. (April 18, 2012, Page 9)
